Mixed TMDs

The combination of intra-articular and pain TMDs.

The most common form of TMDs…

Mixed TMDs account for approximately 80-90% of all TMD cases. Common signs and symptoms include a combination of jaw pain/headaches and jaw noises (e.g. clicking, clunking, grating), locking or instability. Symptoms are usually aggravated by jaw-related activities such as yawning, talking and eating.

The severity of mixed TMDs can range from those that are mild with minimal impact on day to day life, to those that are severe and stop you from doing the things that you love. Regardless of the severity, physiotherapy can often help to reduce symptoms and improve jaw function.
